Lee Moriarty

Lee Moriarty, BS/CTRS, has worked in Long-Term Care for over 30 years. Her experience includes working for the Quality Improvement Organization for the State of IL where she was involved in the CMS sponsored National Person-Directed Care Collaborative that formulated processes to assist elder care communities in implementing person-centered care. Through the years, Lee has worked as a Management Consultant for several different Nursing Home corporations and currently runs her own person-centered care consulting company that focuses on quality of life and culture change to promote improved elder care. As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Lee fulfills the CMS and State mandated consultation requirements for long-term care communities. She uses her expertise and experiences to educate and support culture change concepts particularly in regards to Life Enrichment/Activities, Ability Centered Dementia Care, Person-Centered care, staff retention and team building and Person Centered Rehab Care/Services. She also prides herself on assisting communities with special projects to meet long term care communities’ individualized needs so that they excel in accomplishing their mission statements.

When not consulting, Lee provides education and training on a variety of topics with a history of having presented through every long-term care professional organization in the state. This includes teaching the State compliant Alzheimer’s Unit Director and Activity Director Courses. Lee also serves on several Statewide boards including appointment by the Governor to the Illinois Council on Aging. Lee’s greatest passion, though is serving on the board of directors for the Illinois Pioneer Coalition which she helped organize over 15 years ago.
